Losing your spouse is a profoundly life-changing event. While many resources help with grief, few offer clear pathways for rebuilding your life. Widowhood Recovery is here to guide you through healing and rediscovery. Founded by a widow and widower who understand challenges firsthand, we’ve created a unique Roadmap to Recovery based on our own healing success and years of experience working directly with widow/ers. Our online classes, engaging blogs, and personalized guidance provide the support you need to create your best life after loss. Let us help you navigate the journey and reclaim your share of joy.
At Widowhood Recovery, our primary goal is to support widows and widowers on their journey of healing and rediscovery. We understand the profound challenges that come with loss, and we’re here to provide guidance, support, and inspiration every step of the way. Whether you’re looking for practical tools to navigate grief, a supportive community to lean on, or resources to help you create a fulfilling new chapter of your life, we’re here to help. Our mission is to empower you to find peace, reclaim joy and embrace the possibilities of a meaningful life after loss.
Widowhood Recovery was born from our shared journey of loss and the need for support to rebuild our lives after losing our spouses. As a widow and widower, we searched tirelessly for guidance beyond therapy and grief support groups, finding few resources. Driven by our experiences and passion to help others, we created a 6-week in-person forum using personalized strategies for resilience. The overwhelmingly positive response inspired us to create the Widowhood Recovery website, a comprehensive online resource for widows and widowers seeking support, community, and a path to healing, hope and reclaiming joy.
After 35 years of marriage, Judy experienced the sudden and unexpected loss of her loving husband Tom at the age of 55. Struggling to find guidance on rebuilding her life after months of grief support, she embarked on a journey of research, trial and error, and unwavering determination, successfully worked her way back to a joyful life. Drawing from her hard-earned knowledge, Judy began supporting newer widows, sharing what she had learned. Teaming up with fellow traveler Robert Tarragano, Judy co-created a 6-week forum for widow/ers seeking education and guidance, which ultimately led to the development of the Widowhood Recovery website. As a not-for-profit organization, Widowhood Recovery is committed to providing a comprehensive resource hub for widow/er recovery.
Robert, a co-creator of Widowhood Recovery, intimately understands the journey of reclaiming joy after loss. Following the passing of his beloved wife Cheryl, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage, Robert recognized the need for widow/er support services focusing on rebuilding life after loss. Drawing from his background in market research, product development, and process improvement, he saw the need for a more organized approach to help widow/ers move forward. Teaming up with fellow traveler Judy Jury, Robert co-created a 6-week forum for widow/ers seeking education and guidance, which ultimately led to the development of the Widowhood Recovery website. As a not-for-profit organization, Widowhood Recovery is committed to providing a comprehensive resource hub for widow/er recovery.
Our purpose is to offer widows and widowers a roadmap, resources, and tools to empower you to live your best life. Our goal is to help you reclaim joy.
